Car Rotisserie FAQs

How do you balance a vehicle body on a rotisserie?

The body should be mounted securely and the rotisserie adjusted so the rotational axis is close to the body’s center of gravity. Follow the manufacturer’s balancing procedure and test movement gradually before rotating the body through a large angle.

How much space do I need to use a car rotisserie?

Allow enough room for the vehicle body to rotate through its full arc plus space to walk and work around both ends and sides. Measure the vehicle body and rotisserie at full extension, not just the equipment’s stored footprint.

Does the engine and drivetrain need to be removed before using a rotisserie?

In most restoration applications, heavy components such as the engine, transmission, fuel, interior, and suspension are removed before the body is mounted and rotated. Follow the rotisserie manufacturer’s instructions for allowable weight, balance, and vehicle preparation.

How do I know if a car rotisserie will fit my vehicle?

Compare the vehicle body’s weight, length, mounting points, center of gravity, and required adapter configuration with the rotisserie’s rated capacity and adjustment range. Universal does not mean every vehicle attaches without fabrication or model-specific adapters.

What is a car rotisserie used for?

A car rotisserie supports a stripped vehicle body so it can be rotated for restoration work on the underside, floor pans, frame areas, welding, blasting, painting, and other body repairs. It is intended for properly prepared vehicle bodies, not for lifting a complete assembled vehicle unless specifically approved.
