End Lifts FAQs

What safety precautions are important with an end lift?

Use the lift only on a suitable surface, position the vehicle exactly as specified, engage mechanical locks when provided, stay within rated capacity, and use any required wheel chocks or secondary supports. Follow the exact operating manual for the model.

How much floor space does an automotive end lift require?

Compare the lift’s footprint and approach requirements with the vehicle’s width and wheelbase. Also leave enough working clearance around the raised portion of the vehicle and account for hoses, controls, and safe technician movement.

Can an end lift be used on trucks and SUVs?

Some models can handle light trucks or SUVs, while others are intended for passenger vehicles. Check rated capacity, lifting-point range, pad or contact design, lift height, and the manufacturer’s approved applications.

How do I choose the right capacity for an end lift?

Because an end lift supports only part of the vehicle, proper capacity and load placement are critical. Follow the manufacturer’s approved vehicle positioning and never assume that half of the vehicle’s total weight will always be carried by the lifted end.

What is an end lift used for?

An automotive end lift raises one end or section of a vehicle for service access. Depending on the design, it can be useful for brake, tire, suspension, body, or undercar work where a full vehicle lift is unnecessary.
